This policy brief evaluates how Viet Nam can meet its 2030 JETP targets and move toward a more ambitious 2035 NDC. It shows that a 47% renewable portfolio standard already delivers emissions well below the 170 Mt JETP ceiling, and that front-loading utility-scale solar plus battery storage by 2030 makes a tighter 2035 cap cheap to achieve.
